Where are you from?
Las Vegas, Nevada
How do you spend your time?
Making art, perfume and floral/plant arrangements. Daydreaming about vacations, wondering what to do next, feeling happy for what’s good and beautiful in the world and miserable about the stupid shit humans get up to
What’s your story?
What’s your feminist story?
I was raised by a single mother with 3 younger siblings, and my grandmother. My mother was married to the father of my two youngest siblings, he was abusive, a monster really. For the years that they were together I saw what male privilege, both emotional and physical is like raw and unchecked. My grandmother was tiny, fiery and beautiful. She was married 7 times, and died at 56. She took no shit, she gave me art, made me create. My mother gave me endless love in spite of the horrors she had to live through. I decided to be like my grandmother, and my mother, and to never become the monster that my stepfather was.
I can keep going on and on about the powerful women that have embraced, helped and pushed me up until this very moment, but I have to get this back to you:)
What is feminism? This is hard for me to pin down. I think of it as a process that is evolving us as well as evolving itself. It is the vehicle for real freedom and equality for everyone. If one group, or even a single person does not have the same rights as another then we are failing. Feminism is how not to fail.
What does "Feminist as Fuck" mean? It means not backing down, not accepting the status quo, breaking
barriers, and fucking winning at life and love.
What feminist topics are most important to you?
Violence against women, LGBTQ, and people of color. Equal pay.
