Where are you from?
Kankakee, IL and Chicago is my grown adult home.
How do you spend your time?
Most of the time I am teaching, reading, and writing, but I enjoy hanging with artists, writers, and activists.
What’s your story?
I would say I am a poet and writing led me to where I am now. I’ve met and worked with young people, women, and other writers, traveled to other countries, pursued advanced degrees, and been on television. My love of words has led me to all those places across the country and beyond.
What’s your feminist story?
I know I am a feminist because I challenge the limitations imposed on me as a woman and encourage other women to do so every day.
What is feminism?
Feminism is about wanting women to be treated fairly and equitably, but it also means that men will be fuller, more expressive human beings too.
What does "Feminist as Fuck" mean?
Unapologetic. Finding courage in the ability to be strong and vulnerable.
What feminist topics are most important to you?
Mentoring and supporting other women in their creative, educational, and career growth, reproductive health issues, body-positive affirmations, equal pay, sexual assault, intersectional representations of women in popular culture and real life.
