Where are you from?
Chicago via Marquette, Michigan
How do you like to spend your time?
Eating good food, drinking good drinks, and listening to good music! Taking dance classes, reading, writing, & binge watching a new TV series every week.
What’s your story?
I'm definitely a small town girl at heart. I've worked in the restaurant industry for nearly 10 years, but have a deep creativity & artistic nature I try hard not to stifle. I love to make people laugh & I have a undying loyalty to the Detroit Redwings.
What is feminism?
Never letting your voice be silenced. It's great to be well-liked and please people, but it's more important to know what you deserve and to fight for it.
What does "Feminist as Fuck" mean?
Fighting for not only what you deserve, but what others deserve. Treating your fellow ladies (and humans in general) with the utmost respect, versus passing judgement and competing against one another. Being kind and supportive to one another.
What feminist topics are most important to you?
Body image: As a former dancer, I struggled with a morphed body image most of my life. It's not only a physical issue, but a mental & emotional disorder that eats away at every piece of what makes you who you are. Teaching young women to love their bodies & everything unique about themselves is a something that needs to be present early on.
Rape Awareness: I believe it's so engrained in our culture to sexually expose women that many don't even know when they are being sexually harassed or violated. I look back on being a teen girl, liking a guy, and thinking I HAD to sleep with him in order for him to like me. No woman should ever feel like she HAS to have sex. No real man should ever make a woman feel like sex = her worth.
