Where are you from?
Originally Cleveland, but I've been in the Chi for 10 years!
How do you like to spend your time?
Recently, I like to spend my time in Babyland. I love to cook and bake, garden, and work on my art and poetry.
What’s your story?
In relation to this project, I feel lucky to have grown up around some strong women. My mom, all my aunts, both my grandmas, my best friend of 15 years, my dance and school teachers. It was so important to who I am today. I hope that all young women (and young men for that matter!) should be so fortunate to have a strong woman to look up to. And now, I am very happy to have a few professional mentors that are some seriously badass ladies. Keeps me inspired and working hard to be my best!
What is feminism?
Feminism to me is empowering women to be who they want to be, while letting them do so in an open and safe environment. You want to wear a short skirt? A hijab? You want to be a stay at home mom? An engineer? A senator? Every woman should have the right to be and own who they want to be. I think that a belief in this concept, for both women and men, makes the world a better place.
What does "Feminist as Fuck" mean?
Wear it proud.
What feminist topics are most important to you?
At the moment, access to affordable women's and men’s reproductive health care. Preserving our rights to have safe, legal, and shamefree birth control and abortions. Empowering women to have the kind of pregnancy, childbirth, and breastfeeding experience that they want and deserve. And reasonable postpartum PTO for both mothers and their partners.
