Where are you from?
How do you spend your time?
Work takes up most of my time, but I try to spend my free time with the people I love. Good company is important to me.
What’s your story?
Logistically my story is pretty simple and ideal, loving family, strong group of supportive friends, did well in school, started a career young, generally a happy and healthy human functioning in society. In recent years as I have experienced more, and gained a better understanding of myself I find that has made my story is more interesting, at least to me! I love having a strong sense of self, I am excited to see where my story goes from here… ask me again in a year.
What’s your feminist story?
I don’t remember a time I wasn’t a feminist. I was raised by a single mother, who as I grew up was always so present and involved yet was working full time to support me and my siblings. As I got older and started working full time myself I became even more impressed by my mother and her ability to seemingly “do it all”. When I look at my mother I see this incredibly warm, dedicated, hardworking human… I do not see how anyone could look at her and her accomplishments and see that she is less than or that she didn’t deserve a higher wage to support her family.
What is feminism?
I see feminism as movement that believes in the simple truth that men and women are to be respected as equals.
What does "Feminist as Fuck" mean?
To me it means just being myself. It means not having to down-play my opinions or my sexuality. I don’t really need someone to tell me “that’s not lady like”.
What feminist topics are most important to you?
Equal pay, and family leave are important to my personal needs. I love working, and I want to make a career but I also would love be a mother. However, I feel like protecting our current rights, such as a women’s right to choose, are critical right now. It is scary to see the political threats of defunding Planned Parenthood and other programs that aid in women’s health.
