Where are you from?
NC > FL > PA > NJ
How do you like to spend your time?
I love performing and do that as often, as possible. I watch a lot of movies and TV and write feminist critiques of them. Food. Cocktails. Dance parties. I love to paint my nails. Seriously, I’m really good at it.
What’s your story?
I moved to Chicago 5 years ago from North Carolina because I was looking for a more creatively diverse and thriving environment. Mission accomplished. I have been very supportive both personally and professionally, especially by the ladies!
What is feminism?
1. A belief system and code of conduct that supports and advocates for a shift in the way we culturally value women and girls. 2. A belief system and code of conduct that supports and advocates for any effort to create a more balanced and just global culture by representing the experiences, needs and desires of all individuals in the creation, maintenance and evolution of humankind.
To me feminism is an identity. It’s woven into the fabric of who I am and I think that was embedded in me on a karmic level before I was born. It’s a commitment to creating a more honest and inclusive world for us all by empowering and supporting women.
What does "Feminist as Fuck" mean?
Feminist as Fuck means next level. A feminist act, choice, relationship, job is one that challenges the dominant model, the oppressive and patriarchal systems, and presents other options. It means getting to the heart of the matter and triggering a power shift that changes the frequency of what currently exists. Being feminist as fuck, identifying as such, means I wake up everyday and am like, “Fuck yeah, I got this.” And it means creating a support system for myself so that on the days when I need to say “Fuck this,” you know there are others out there keeping it up.
What feminist topics are most important to you?
Body politics = Reproductive Rights, Slut Shaming/Rape Culture/Street Harassment, Sex & Body Positivity movements, Media & Pop Culture content & imagery, Girls rights & stories, Creating safe, public spaces
